Hi I'm Nick.
I am an aspiring cybersecurity analyst. Like most in cybersecurity I have had an unconventional journey into the field.
Scroll to find out how I arrived here.
My journey began with a love for data and a degree in economics,
then challenging myself as a device technician at a leading tech company,
before finding passion and specialising in cybersecurity.
Economics was the foundation.
It was whilst studying I discovered the power of data and analytics. Interning at the leading Monash Institute for Financial Studies allowed me to see the power of data in modelling the world
We took on big issues, using data models to analyse companies' financials in depth and connect to performance on other areas such as climate change and corporate responsibility.
I then jumped into the opportunity becoming a device technician at Apple.
Without a consumer tech background, it was a challenge. But it was rewarding learning the full device diagnostic and repair process from the ground up.
It was here I was able to personally connect with users and understand the value of cybersecurity. I saw firsthand the effects of low-level attacks such phishing, spoofing and other forms of social engineering.
Apple provided me with the opportunity to do earn a cybersecurity certificate and I leapt at the chance.
What began as simple Google course quickly transformed into a passion that integrates my economic insights, technical skills.
The learning imbued me with a strong commitment to confidentiality, availability and integrity of data.
As I’ve delved deeper into cybersecurity, I've discovered its alignment with economics via data analysis and reasoning.
This connection extends my passion beyond data protection; I now see the strategic importance of security measures in today’s digital landscape.
Cybersecurity is vital to a well-functioning tech ecosystem.
Cybersecurity is now my passion and every opportunity I get to work on projects is a joy!
Some of those completed projects are numbered and linked below. I am also adding to these every week, so come back soon or get in touch at the contact page with any questions
Thank you for visiting my cybersecurity portfolio!
I am now seeking security operations positions so please get in touch!
Kind regards,
Nick.
